Conceived from a merger of Maison de la France, the agency responsible for the promotion of France in overseas markets, and ODIT France, the agency for tourism engineering, Atout France is a single operator of the French government in the tourism sector and is responsible for the further promotion and development of tourism of France.
This merger comes about with the objective of having an entity that is more apt to better respond to the challenges that face French tourism today, which include the reclassification of the hotel system and the registration of tourism operators in France.
